Sophie Simeakis-Borrelli, D.O. – medical director

 

Dr. Sophie, as she is affectionately known, is a cosmetic doctor specializing in facial rejuvenation and esthetic artistry. In seven short years, she has become a household name in Chicago’s south suburbs for laser treatments and cosmetic injections to enhance body and facial beauty. Her fame is spreading and she has added Las Vegas to her venue. Her clients come from around the world.

 

Dr. Sophie went to medical school at Midwestern University intending to specialize in plastic surgery. Children and family came first so she switched to emergency room and trauma care. For more than 20 years, she has worked 12-hour-night shifts to enable her to be home during the day. Her schedule is complemented by her ER physician husband who works days to help provide 24-hour parenting.

 

Over the years, her interest in cosmetic procedures remained strong so drawing upon her surgical and acute care experience, she opened her spa. Courses in laser esthetics, dermal filler injections, skin care and anti-aging treatments and hormonal therapy have helped her develop into a human sculptor and medical artist.

 

Dr. Sophie’s work led to her spa becoming one of a few in the world to be an Artefill®* Center of Excellence. Artefill is a leading-edge, long-lasting dermal filler that can last for seven years. Dr. Sophie also works as an emergency medicine and trauma senior attending physician at Cook County Health and Hospital Systems. She is a Clinical Instructor and Assitant   Professor for the Emergency Medicine and Trauma Residency Program.

Laura Bryan – massage therapist

 

Laura received her massage therapy certification from Moraine Valley College in Palos Hills, IL . She adds a relaxing and healing dimension to the spa with her Swedish, sports, deep tissue, therapeutic and hot stone massage.

 

Enjoyed alone or before a procedure, she helps you reduce tension and relish the experience!

 

MaryLyn Kroner –aesthetician

 

MaryLyn obtained her aesthetics license from Trend Setters School of Aesthetics in Tinley Park, IL. She interned with Dr. Sophie while attending school. In that time, Dr. Sophie mentored her to develop an expertise with the products and services offered at Sofia’s.

 

MaryLyn specializes in facial treatments such as chemical peels and hydrafacials and body treatments such as paraffin and scrubs. Your beauty and welfare are her first concerns.

 

Stephanie Gleason – aesthetician

 

Stephanie received her aesthetics license from the Naperville IL Skin Institute and her laser technician license from the National Laser Institute in Scottsdale AZ.

 

She is thoroughly trained to perform all of the spa’s aesthetic services including chemical peels and microdermabrasion and body treatments such as dermaplaning and cellulite and detoxifying wraps. She knows how to pamper you the right amount as she helps you become a more beautiful you.

 

Nicole Vainisi – manager

 

Nicole is the glue that keeps the office functioning and unified. Since 2008 she has overseen customer service, special events, and the staff at Sofia’s.

 

She is pursuing a degree in network administration at Rasmussen College. She is the pleasant voice you typically hear on the other end of the phone.
