Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers are non-invasive, injectable treatments that can be administered to restore lost volume and soften wrinkles and skin folds in the face, neck, and hands. Dermal fillers are used to plump lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases, eliminate wrinkles and improve the appearance of scars.
Dermal fillers can effectively treat:
- Nasolabial folds (laugh lines from the nose to the mouth)
- Marionette lines (lines from the corners of the mouth to the chin)
- Contour shallows (Hollowness around the eyes, cheeks, temples)
- Jowls
- Atrophic acne scars

What is the downtime for dermal fillers?
After your filler treatment, you may return to normal activities immediately. You may experience mild tenderness, swelling, redness, bruising, lumps/bumps, itching, and discoloration at the treatment site. These side effects are usually transient and typically resolve within 1-7 days.
Are fillers safe?
All dermal fillers that we use at Sofia’s Med Spa are bought directly from each company that makes them, and all of our fillers we use are FDA approved for cosmetic treatments.
At Sofia’s Med Spa, all of our injectables are administered by master injector and physician, Dr. Sophie Simeakis. Dr. Simeakis is an expert on cosmetic fillers and offers a wide range of different fillers to achieve the best result for each patient.
The Juvederm® collection of fillers are injectable gels made from modified hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring sugar found in the human body. Every type of filler in our Juvederm® collection contains an anesthetic to help reduce discomfort during your treatment.
Juvederm® Ultra XC and Juvederm® Ultra Plus XC are fillers in the collection that are used to treatment a range of areas including nasolabial folds, marionette lines, oral commissures, thin lips, and vertical lip lines.
Q: How long does Juvederm® last?
A: Both Juvederm® Ultra XC and Juvederm® Ultra Plus XC are FDA approved to last up to one year.
Juvederm®Voluma XC
Juvederm®Voluma XC is specifically designed to add volume to gently lift and contour the cheek area. As we age, our cheeks flatten and the skin may begin to sag. This is caused by loss of fullness or what esthetic professionals refer to as “age-related midface volume loss.”

A: Juvederm®Voluma XC is the first and only filler proven to last up to 2 years.

Q: How long does Radiesse last?
A: The results of Radiesse may last up to one year.
Bellafill® is a smooth collagen-based dermal filler with polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres. The collagen gel in Bellafill® provides immediate volume and lift to correct the wrinkle/nasolabial fold and/or acne scar. The PMMA microspheres remain in place and create a base that provides structural support for smoother-looking skin.
Q: Will it work for me?
A: In a clinical trial, Bellafill® was shown to work equally well with all skin types, and in men and women. If you have a history of severe allergies, have known bovine collagen allergies, are allergic to lidocaine, have bleeding disorders or are prone to thick scar formation and/or excessive scarring, you should not receive Bellafill.
Q: How long does it last?
A: Satisfaction and effectiveness for the correction of nasolabial folds have been established through 5 years. Effectiveness for the correction of acne scars has been proven through 12 months.
